Terms of Service
Last updated: April 20, 2026
Welcome to BytePane ("BytePane", "we", "our", "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of bytepane.com and the developer tools, utilities, and references offered on the Site. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms form a binding agreement between you and BytePane. We may update them from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Site following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If the changes are material, we will highlight them on this page for at least 30 days.
2. Description of Service
BytePane provides free, web-based developer utilities, converters, formatters, encoders, decoders, generators, and technical references. Tools cover common developer tasks such as JSON/YAML/CSV conversion, regex testing, JWT decoding, base64 encoding, hash generation, timestamp conversion, color formats, case conversion, and related utilities. The Site is an informational and productivity resource and is not a security audit service, SaaS backend, or professional advisory.
3. License to Use BytePane Tools
You may use BytePane tools for any purpose, including personal, educational, and commercial use. Output generated by the tools (formatted JSON, decoded tokens, converted text) is yours to use however you see fit. We do not claim ownership of anything you produce with the tools.
You may not:
- Scrape, mirror, or systematically copy the Site's interface, code, or content.
- Reverse-engineer and re-publish BytePane tools as your own service.
- Use automated scripts or headless browsers to generate abusive load on the Site.
- Use the Site to transmit malware, spam, or content intended to defraud or harm others.
- Use BytePane to assist in unlawful activity, including unauthorized access to third-party systems.
4. Accuracy and Limitations
BytePane tools follow published specifications (RFC 7519 for JWT, RFC 4648 for base64, standard regex engines, and similar). However, tool output is not guaranteed to be correct in every edge case. Specifications are complex and implementations vary. Before using tool output in production systems — especially for security-critical operations like JWT verification, cookie parsing, or cryptographic hash comparison — verify the result with authoritative libraries in your production language.
5. Security-Sensitive Data Warning
Many BytePane tools operate entirely in your browser, meaning pasted data never leaves your device. This makes them suitable for handling tokens, API keys, and other secrets with less risk than tools that process inputs server-side. However:
- Browser extensions, developer tools, or malware on your device could still observe your inputs.
- We strongly recommend never pasting production secrets into any third-party website, including BytePane, without understanding the risk.
- For genuinely sensitive data, use official libraries offline rather than any web tool.
You can verify that BytePane tools do not send your inputs to our servers by inspecting the Network tab in your browser developer tools while using any tool.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on BytePane — including text, tool interfaces, logos, page layouts, documentation, data compilations, and design elements — is the property of BytePane or its content contributors and is protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may view, print, and share individual pages for personal, non-commercial use, and you may link to the Site from your own website or social media. You may not reproduce, redistribute, republish, sublicense, or create derivative works from BytePane content (including tool interfaces) without our prior written consent.
7. Third-Party Content and Advertising
The Site contains advertising served by third parties (including Google AdSense and other ad networks), as well as references and links to third-party websites such as MDN, RFC Editor, W3C, and related technical references. BytePane does not control and is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party sites or advertisers. Inclusion of an advertisement or link is not an endorsement.
8. Disclaimers
THE SITE AND ALL TOOLS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE FROM VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BYTEPANE AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR RELIANCE ON TOOL OUTPUT, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DATA LOSS, PRODUCTION INCIDENTS, SECURITY BREACHES, OR MISINTERPRETED OUTPUT. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100).
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless BytePane, its operators, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any right of another party.
11. Privacy
Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
12. Availability and Termination
We strive to maintain high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, update, or discontinue any tool at any time without notice. We may restrict, suspend, or terminate your access to the Site for any reason, including violation of these Terms.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which BytePane is operated. Any dispute shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in that jurisdiction.
14. Severability and Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, the remaining provisions will remain in full force. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and BytePane regarding the Site.
